HANWORTH?VILLA 1, FARNHAM TN 3 (Combined Counties Premier League)
PAUL Tanner rang the changes after the home spanking by Bedfont Sports and he had a good reaction from the players as Farnham won convincingly at sixth-placed Hanworth Villa.
The manager brought back George Spiers, James Thomas, Jack Dillon and club captain Darren Wilson, and all made a major impact in the game.
Spiers put Town in front from a well-worked free-kick after just eight minutes and it remained 1-0 at half-time, with Hanworth having no joy in their efforts to break down a disciplined defence.
The next goal was going to be crucial and Farnham got it after 62 minutes, Elliott Cardona scoring with a shot from outside the 18-yard box.
Jack Buckle revived Hanworth’s hopes by scoring on 75 minutes, but it took Farnham only five minutes to restored their two-goal cushion. A home defender was shown a straight red for kicking Dillon and Cardona beat keeper Terry Buss from the spot to kill the game off.
Another plus for Farnham was a solid performance from Richard Ossai, returning to his former club as cover for injured keeper Matt Petts.
Ossai made two or three decent saves at important times and looks to be a shrewd signing for Farnham at the business end of the season.
Playing catch-up with their fixtures, Farnham are home to lowly Redhill this Saturday. It will be their fourth game in eight days.
They host top-three side Epsom & Ewell on Tuesday (March 22).
