FARNHAM Tn 1, Epsom & Ewell 2. Farnham thought they had rescued a point when Luke Whiddett equalised in the 87th minute with a superb 25-yard volley.
But Town switched off in the closing minutes and Epsom & Ewell showed why they are third in the Combined Counties League by snatching a last-gasp winner, thanks to a moment of individual skill from Bentley Graham.
It had been an uneventful game for 75 minutes, with the visitors having most of the possession and Farnham defending with great discipline.
Epsom finally broke the deadlock on 78 minutes when Tom Neale finished off a deflected cross.
Farnham, who had one confident penalty shout turned down, deservedly drew level with Whiddett’s brilliant effort, only for Epsom to snatch all three points in the 90th minute.
“A point would have been fair, but we lapsed in the last few minutes,” said manager Paul Tanner. “It was a good defensive exercise until that lapse.”
