Badshot Lea 0, Cray Valley 7

badshot Lea’s Wembley dream was left in tatters after they were crushed 7-0 at home by rampant Cray Valley in the FA Vase at Krooner Park on Saturday.

Only trailing to Denzel Gayle goal almost midway through the second half, Lea capitulated in spectacular style as Kevin Lisbie hit a quick hat-trick and assisted two more as the Southern Counties East League side ran riot late on to book their place in the next round in stunning fashion.

Gayle put Cray Valley ahead with a deflected goal nine minutes before half-time after excellent hold-up play by Joe N’Guessan.

But such was their dominance that the score could have been greater and they quickly put the game beyond their shell-shocked hosts with three goals in six minutes.

Lisbie scored his first and Cray Valley’s second goal on 67 minutes before doubling his tally and adding the visitors’ third goal just four minutes later - N’Guessan the provider for his first and Gayle setting up the second.

And 3-0 became four 17 minutes from time as Gayle scored his second of the game after good work from Semakula.

There was clearly no way back for Lea at this stage, it was merely a case of damage limitation. But even that idea went astray as Cray Valley scored three more - Lisbie completing his hat-trick on 89 minutes courtesy of an N’Guessan cross, Calum Willock adding his side’s sixth in the first minute of stoppage time and N’Guessan completing the rout.
