RELEGATED Petersfield said farewell to the Southern League, but went down fighting at Love Lane on Saturday.

An early goal by Arlesey’s Tony Williams was cancelled out by Adam Cripps on 17 minutes.

Goals for Arel Amu and Williams again gave the visitors a 3-1 lead at half-time. Then, just three minutes into the second half, Matt Andrews scored to pull it back to 3-2.

That, however, was the end of the scoring and the Rams fell to their 37th defeat in a season that has netted them just nine points from 42 games.
