NICKE Kabamba, who scored on his debut for Aldershot Town on Saturday, signed on loan from Portsmouth until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old recently returned from a one-month loan with League Two side Colchester, having joined Pompey in January 2017 from Hampton & Richmond. He scored 40 goals in 80 games for the Beavers as they won promotion to National League South. He previously played for Hayes & Yeading, Uxbridge, Hayes, Burnham and Hemel Hempstead.

“I’ve monitored Nicke for quite some time and I’m extremely pleased we’ve been able to get him on board,” said Gary Waddock. “When we played against Hampton in a pre-season friendly, he was an absolute handful. He got himself a good move to Portsmouth and has played in the Football League.

“He’s quick, strong, powerful and good in the air and gives us a different option to the strikers we currently have at the club. We wanted to bring another centre-forward in, and goals win games.”

This deal is the second to be funded by the new 500 Club initiative, which invites supporters to contribute to Waddock’s playing budget with a ‘money-back-and-more’ guarantee if Aldershot win promotion to the Football League this season.

Aldershot have also recruited left-back Lewis Kinsella on loan from Colchester until February 3. Kinsella, 23, has made 14 appearances, including seven starts, for Colchester this season, following 13 starts in the first three months of 2016-17 before suffering a long-term ankle injury.

He spent eight years in the Arsenal academy, up to U16 level, before joining Aston Villa in 2011. He helped Villa academy win the Europe-wide NextGen Series in 2013 and was then named as a substitute for the first-team’s FA Cup quarter-final against West Brom in March 2015.

Loans at Luton, in League Two, and National League side Kidderminster Harriers followed, before he joined Colchester in July 2016.

“Lewis has got experience and played at a higher level and we’re all hoping that it’s the right fit,” said manager Waddock.

Aldershot have parted company with two players. Shaun Okojie left the club after his contract was terminated by mutual consent. The forward joined from Corinthian-Casuals in July and made nine appearances, scoring one goal on his home debut against Torquay in August. He has spent loan spells at Wealdstone and Eastbourne Borough during November and December.

Kodi Lyons-Foster has been released by Aldershot after his contract expired. A graduate of the Bristol City, Tottenham and Aston Villa academies, the defender joined the Shots last August after a successful trial period, and made seven appearances.

• George Fowler has extended his loan from Ipswich until Saturday, February 3. The 20-year-old defender has made 19 appearances since joining the Shots in August and will now be available for a further four matches.

Goalkeeper Lewis Ward, on loan from Reading, has also stretched his stay – until Sunday March 4. The keeper, having played ten matches since November, will now be available for a further nine games.

This deal was the first to be funded by the new 500 Club initiative.

• Aldershot teenage winger Matt Bozier has joined AFC Totton on loan for the rest of the season

• Aldershot’s National League fixture against Dagenham & Redbridge at Victoria Road on Saturday, February 10 will be broadcast live on BT Sport. Kick-off has been moved to 5.30pm.
