ALRESFORD, true to form, bounced back from defeat at second-placed Blackfield with a convincing win over AFC?Bournemouth in the Sydenhams Premier League.

Alresford raced into a 3-0 lead with quickfire goals from Dave Parry, Aaron Blaxall and Tom Sands.

Parry put the Magpies on their way and Blaxall snapped up the second at a corner-kick.

Parry, Steve Hall and Sands then linked up in a superb move. Sands took the ball past the last defender and smashed it home for the third.

The Poppies came back fighting, however, and goals from Stepan Neronski either side of half-time put them right back in the game.

Sands hit the woodwork and further chances came and went for Alresford until substitute Lukas McCartney rose high at a corner and headed into the top corner to make it 4-2.

Even then, Bournemouth were not finished and Brad Benson made a timely clearance off the line.

But the Magpies had the last word. Tom Ashton’s free-kick was flicked on by McCartney and Blaxall headed his second goal.

Alresford are away to Fawley this Saturday and then return to Arlebury Park on Wednesday for a match against third-placed Portland.
