EASTLEIGH striker Ross Lafayette has signed on loan for Aldershot Town until the end of the season.

Lafayette, 30, who scored a late winner for the Spitfires in the FA Trophy tie at Aldershot in December, has five goals in 12 starts this season since joining from Luton last summer.

He had made his name with two prolific seasons at Welling United, scoring 22 goals in 2012-13 as the Wings won the Conference South and then a further 15 in the Skrill Premier in 2013-14.

Lafayette began his career with Beaconsfield and went on to play for Chesham, Barton Rovers, Aylesbury United, Wealdstone, Aylesbury FC and Burnham. Twelve goals in 24 starts for Hemel Hempstead in 2011-12 then earned him the move to Welling.

“I haven’t started as much as I’d have liked at Eastleigh, but I’m feeling fit and healthy,” he said. “I’ve been scoring as a substitute and I’m looking forward to helping Aldershot move up the table,” added Lafayette, who came off the bench in the recent FA Cup third-round replay against Bolton.
