FARNHAM TOWN 5, BEDFONT & FELTHAM 2

FARNHAM Town, after a disastrous result in midweek, gained a morale-boosting victory over Bedfont & Feltham at the Memorial Ground on Saturday.

Beset with availabilty problems, Town had been hammered 7-3 at The Spectrum and were desperate for a decent result against the Combined Counties Premier League’s bottom club.

Mark Corbett was back after missing four games with a groin strain and the striker showed how much he had been missed by scoring inside a minute, finishing neatly after a good move down the right.

With barely two minutes gone, Luke Craig equalised for Bedfont, but Farnham were getting into their stride and stretching Bedfont on the flanks – Elliott Cardona on the left and Jack Dillon and Max Meaton on the right.

John Lancashire, another key player for Farnham, restored the lead with a diving header from 12 yards, but the home side paid for some sloppy work in central midfield and Craig again made them pay – two apiece at the interval.

Town’s attacking play always looked likely to bring further rewards and they put the game to bed with three goals in the second half.

Cardona popped up with a brace, one being the highlight of the game – a spectacular scissor-kick into the top left-hand corner.

Dillon showed his goal-scoring ability to score the fifth and final goal.

Farnham are away to Windsor this Saturday.
