The Frensham Pond Sailing team have been winning races throughout the season this year.

The highlight was the Hansa Class UK National Championships held at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy.

The championships were held on a weekend with high winds and choppy waters – to the extent that some sailors decided not to take part in some of the races.

Several sailors from Sailability participated.

The National Championship for the 2.3 Class was awarded to Lindsay Burns and the National Championship for the Liberty Class went to Mike Everitt, who finished first after a very fiercely fought race. European Champion Paul Phillips was third, and Tessa Watkiss sixth.

In the race in the 2.3 Class, Andrew Lebec came third and he was awarded the Endeavour Award for his persistence in difficult conditions.

In the 303 One Person Class, Margaret Foreman was third, James Woosnam fifth and Katie Apse seventh. In the 303 Two Person Class, Lara Sturgis was eighth.

Eleven Frensham sailors have also taken part in the Hansa UK Travelling Trophy series which takes place at a variety of venues around the country.

After four races in the 2.3 Class, Lindsay Burns is placed first, Lara Sturgis second and Andrew Lebec third.

In the 303 One Person Class, James Woosnam is second, Katie Apse sixth, Judith Riggs eighth and Margaret Foreman tenth.

In the 303 Two Person Class, Mike Everitt is seventh and Colin Freeman 14th.

The Liberty Class has Paul Phillips third, Mike Everitt fourth and Tessa Watkiss sixth. There is still all to play for in the competition.
