A HOLYBOURNE man has returned from the WCJJO Ju-Jitsu World Championships in Australia with silver and bronze medals under his belt.
Alex Gee, 45, headed up the 20-strong mixed GB team as they competed in Brisbane in a competition based on the traditional Japanese art of ju-jitsu.
Having taken the super heavyweight world title in 2013 when the competition was held in Andover, Gee was selected to represent his country at this tournament for the fourth time, having competed in the masters category in Las Vegas in 2010 and Geneva in 2015.
This year, he won silver in the individual competition and bronze in the masters.
He was accompanied on the trip by his number one supporter, 14-year-old son David, a pupil at Eggar’s School.
