THERE was plenty of grit and gusto, but little quality and ultimately no goals to separate the sides as Aldershot and Kidderminster fought out a tense stalemate at the ESS Stadium on Tuesday night.

Aldershot had never lost a competitive fixture against the Worcestershire outfit in seven previous encounters, and at least that record remains intact following the eighth meeting of the sides.

But the story could have been so much better for the relegation-threatened hosts had young winger Jordan Roberts not fluffed his lines when presented with a gaping goal in the 86th minute.
