Three members of Alton Golf Club, who all hail from Binsted, have taken up a challenge that has not been attempted since the turn of the century.
Tim Winkworth, Tony De Sousa and Paul Knight will be attempting to play more than 103 holes in a day on Thursday, June 19, around the picturesque Alton course which sits above Alton on the Old Odiham Road.
It will mean covering more than 60,000 yards – 34 miles if they hit it straight – of undulating terrain to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK.
The previous record was set in 2000 by former club president Steve Crooke, who will be there to cheer them on.
Members and visitors are invited to witness the event by coming up to the clubhouse on the day.
