THE Cardiac Rehab Golf Society was founded by Len Mills ten years ago. Since then, it has grown steadily in numbers and perhaps a bit in skills.

Each year, the Society plays eight matches around Hampshire, Surrey and Berkshire. This year’s programme includes matches at Alresford, The East Berks, Blackmoor, the Army Course and several more excellent venues. Between 30 and 40 members play at each event.

The Society also holds annual knockout competitions which are free to members and are played during the summer.

The tenth anniversary trophies were awarded to the winners of the men’s and ladies’ competitions. The men’s winner was Brian Sawkins, the third time he has won the trophy. He overcame stiff competition in the final in the form of Society treasurer and last year’s winner, Philip Larking.

The ladies’ winner was Teresa Frost, the Society’s secretary.

The Cardiac Rehab Golf Society welcomes new members and is keen to point out that you don’t have to have a heart attack to join! Contact Teresa Frost at [email protected]
