THE ladies section at Farnham Golf Club held a successful autumn meeting on October 2.

Forty-four ladies played in the medal competition in the morning. The starters - men’s captain Colin Smith on the first and Ian Nicoll on the 10th - sent on their way in sunny conditions with very little wind.

Forty-five ladies then played in the Texas scramble in the afternoon, sent off by club chairman Terry Farmer.

Thanks go to main event organiser Cheryl Brewer, and Melanie Wilson and Hilary Smith who took over on the day as Cheryl was away, and to Diana Nairn, who came early to do the raffle, and to all the ladies who bought tickets. £150 was raised for Treloars.

Barbara Wheatley provided fabulous flower arrangements for the dining tables and larger ones for the prize table and ladies’ room which were auctioned at the end to the day, raising an additional £50 for Treloars.

Further thanks go to Bob the chef and the club’s professional shop staff who inputted the scorecards and processed the final results.
