COWDRAY Park Golf Club Seniors’ first medal competition of the year was for the Heard Tankard. Conditions were tricky and only four of the 63 players equalled or bettered the CSS.
The winner, on countback, was John Renwick with a net 68. Leading scores: 68 John Renwick, Ken Marjoram; 69 Allen Sibley, David Laver; 70 David Heard, Mike Briant, Chris Hutchings, Peter Laws, Jim Booth.
Cowdray hosted a particularly strong Petersfield Seniors side, led by former Cowdray club captain Alan Austin. The visitors won 5.5-2.5.

Cowdray Seniors’ Eclectic standings had a major shake-up after the April Stableford and Heard Tankard were completed. Chris Hutchings, winner of the latest Medal, stormed to the top of the table from 28th spot, his six birdies and eight pars giving him 61.5 points. Harvey Terry moves from fifth to second.
