ALDERSHOT Town's administrators remain hopeful that a buyer can be found for the relegated club.

Joint administrators Carl Jackson and Paul Goddard of Quantuma Restructuring issued a statement this week, their first since being appointed 11 days ago

"Since taking charge of Aldershot Town, the administrators have sought to understand the day-to-day operations and finances of the business, with a view to keeping the club going while at the same time getting it to live within its means. We have made substantial progress in this area.

"Our focus has been to find a potential buyer for the club. To date, there have been on-going and productive conversations with a few interested parties and we are interested in talking to anyone with a genuine interest in buying the club. We remain hopeful that a buyer can be found as soon as possible.

"We remain committed to having an open dialogue with supporters, staff and players and remain in regular contact with representatives of supporters groups, as well as other key stakeholders."

Aldershot's best players are likely to move on and already midfielder Peter Vincenti has accepted an offer to join League Two club Rochdale.

Jersey-born Vincenti, 26, who can operate in midfield or as a striker, had been with Aldershot since January 2011 when he joined from Stevenage – one of Dean Holdsworth's first signings.

He leaves Aldershot with memories of a glamorous League Cup tie against Manchester United and an historic FA Cup fourth-round meeting with Middlesbrough.

Meanwhile, Danny Hylton's CV was done no harm at all this week when he was confirmed winner of the Golden Boot in this season's FA Cup. Hylton scored eight goals in Aldershot's journey to the fourth round, three ahead of Manchester City's Carlos Tevez who failed to score in Saturday's final.

Hylton scored in all four rounds for the Shots – two against Hendon in November, two more away to Fleetwood, a superb hat-trick at home to Rotherham, and finally a dramatic late goal in the 2-1 defeat at Middlesbrough.

Hylton, as winner of one of the Player of the Round awards, was a guest of sponsors Budweiser at the Cup Final. The striker said: "When you look at the standard of some of the players, Carlos Tevez for example who cost more than £30m, to have won the Golden Boot ahead of them was amazing."
