THERE has been a rapid development this season in two juniors playing in Division Four of the Aldershot Table Tennis League.
Phil Russell played up for Cody E and secured a maximum in his team’s 7-3 victory over Fleet B. Alan Richards and Nigel Roberts supported with doubles, both losing to Rob Brook.
Ben Carr of Ash H is another rising young player and he, together with Brian Lunn and Darren Milstead, were unbeaten in the 9-1 win against Ash J.
Crawley Ridge B, meanwhile, maintained their promotion push with an 8-2 win over Ash G. Peter Greenwood-Sleep won three for the Camberley outfit, supported by Richard Pape (2) and Richard Hornby (2). Bob Murrell won Ash’s points.
Tennis J whitewashed Cody F 10-0 as Charles Burton, Dave Lewis and Roger Whichelow showed that this team will be serious contenders next season.
Ash K and Frimley E shared the points, with James Maxwell unbeaten for Frimley. Carl Tatum and Stuart Wickham both won twice for Ash.
Tennis H edged past Broadmoor C 6-4. Gabriel Ailiaoe won three for the losers, while John Davis and Dave Lewis took two apiece for Tennis.
In Division One, Tennis A showed no mercy on their C team, winning 9-1. Paul Myers and Rod Kay secured maximums and Eliot Tilley claimed two.
Andy Mudie was unbeaten as Bentley A beat Ash B 8-2. Steve French and Micky Lang chipped in with doubles.
Central A had Peter Millard undefeated in their 6-4 win over Ash A. Nick Mills (2) and Dave Halfpenny (2) replied for Ash.
In Division Two, Tennis D beat their E team 6-4, with Michael Kwan maintaining his perfect record. Dave Jarvis supported with two, which was matched by the E team’s George Carder.
Cody B moved into second place with a 7-3 win over Broadmoor A. Cody players Dario Cereda, Duncan Sibbick and Dave Stenning all won twice, as did Broadmoor’s Tony Gabriel.
Bentley B remain in contention after beating Frimley B 7-3. Robin Street and Paul Farrant were both unbeaten.
Ash E saw off Crawley Ridge A 6-4 in Division Three. Jo Bartlett secured a maximum for Ash and team-mate Amy Parkes won twice, as did Russell Gibbs for Crawley.
Cody C beat their D team 8-2, thanks to a treble from John Harvey and doubles for Jock Docherty and Stuart Stone.
Tennis F went top of the table with a 9-1 mauling of their G team. Darren Brown and Bob Brown were both unbeaten and Paul Jarvis won twice.
In a relegation battle, Ash D just got the better of Frimley D 6-4. Dave Brown recorded a maximum and Les Knight won twice. Gary Nicholson won two for Frimley.
