Finally able to lay claim to a genuine resurgence in form, Aldershot Town moved out of the League Two relegation zone with arguably their best and most complete performance of the season.

From seemingly crumbling foundations, with dark rumours about Dean Holdsworth's future continuing to abound right up to kick-off at the Pirelli Stadium, his team now boast a record of just one defeat in six League games. An early goal for Dani Lopez – his second in a week – proved the catalyst for a display full of composure, confidence and spirit.

Even allowing for tired Burton legs, playing their third game in six days, casual observers would have struggled to identify the team on an impressive run into the play-off places and the one desperate for any scrap of form.
