RENE Howe's lone strike ended Aldershot's superb run of six straight league wins, but Dean Holdsworth believed there was very little between the sides at Plainmoor on Tuesday night.

"We've been ruthless in front of goal, but we didn't have that tonight which is a shame because if we'd knicked one, I think we would have deserved it.

"I don't think there was much between the two sides," continued the Shots manager. "We've pushed them to the boundaries, but we didn't have that killer instinct in front of goal."

There was no shame in losing to Torquay who had won eight out of their last 10 games going into the Aldershot clash.
