ALDERSHOT TOWN 2, SOUTHEND UTD 0
WHAT a difference two months make. On Boxing Day, a bedraggled Aldershot side, one nil and one man down at half-time against high-flying Southend, were saved by a timely floodlight failure.
Eight weeks later and the Shots look revitalised, romping to a comfortable 2-0 victory against the league leaders on Tuesday night.
Josh Payne, pulling the strings in midfield, helped Aldershot to a fourth consecutive win in his fourth start with a 64th minute penalty. But make no mistake, this show belonged to the Shots' silky sensation, Adam Mekki.
