FARNHAM Roller Hockey Club’s under-11 team faced formidable opposition at the South-Eastern Counties RHA U11 Tournament.

Travelling to Maidstone for an early start, Farnham first played the hosts’ A team. It was a tough task, but Farnham fought hard and were unlucky not to earn a draw.

It should have been 5-5 after a very close contest, but a superb goal by Harry Ross was disallowed by the referee and Maidstone won 5-4.

Farnham then met Herne Bay A – another strong side. Again, Farnham worked tirelessly in a fast-paced game, finally going down 5-3.

The final game was against Herne Bay B. Another close-fought match followed, but Farnham showed their true colours and recorded a fine 7-5 victory.

New Farnham goalkeeper Seb Alexander, playing his first tournament, took quite a pounding, but made many cracking saves and was a credit to his team.

Farnham RHC will welcome new players, young and old, regardless of experience. For information, visit the website www. farnhamrollerhockey.co.uk
