TWO Olympians offered their expert advice to young players during a two-day hockey camp at Eggar’s School.

Hosted by Alton Hockey Club, the camp was led by double Olympian and Commonwealth Games and European bronze medallist Dan Fox and Michaela Curtis, a youth Olympian who has 57 international caps for New Zealand.

The top international coaches offered top tips to juniors aged eight to 16 at the Holybourne School during the half-term holidays.

And the two stars were supported by a coaching team of Phil Williams, Marcus Emery, Molly Hanson-Akins and Tylo Remke, all of whom have extensive coaching experience and are great role models for young hockey players.

Pete Tynan, from Alton Hockey Club, was also on hand with on-field assistance throughout the camp.

Dan, who has 164 caps for England and Great Britain, said: “The one-to-one coaching team had a brilliant time on the half-term camp organised in association with Alton Hockey Club. Seeing a large number of juniors playing with such energy and enthusiasm is really promising for the future of hockey at Alton and in the local area.

“We are already looking forward to another camp at Eggar’s School this Easter and hope to see both new and familiar faces.”
