History was made at Farnham Rugby Club as their first-ever women’s second XV played a competitive league game.
The Falcons Seconds travelled to Horsham and convincingly overcame their women’s XV 27-7.
It was a busy weekend for the Farnham club, with the Waverley tournament taking place, which included a squad from Farnham under-sevens, pictured below with coaches Tom Houston and Matt Fairclough.
They enjoyed entertaining their counterparts from Cranleigh, Guildford and Haslemere on Sunday.
Along with the under-11s and under-sevens, age groups from all clubs took part, with more than 500 young people enjoying their rugby at Monkton Lane.
Also on Sunday, Farnham girls’ under-11s played their first-ever contact rugby match at Old Reigatians.
Having missed a season of learning because of the pandemic, the girls from both clubs took to their task with determination and some style - as the photograph above proves.
