Franco Tomic took a pass at pace 15 metres out and took an angled route through the defence to score the third try, which Blumlein coolly converted.

Seb Tuff looked set to score the fourth try, but was tackled by a desperate Ellingham defender ten metres out. The offload was pouched by Dan Sargent to rumble over for an unconverted try. Ellingham responded with a penalty.

On the stroke of half-time a Petersfield scrum on the visitors’ five-metre line drove Ellingham backwards and Field were awarded a penalty which Nic Wilde tapped and dived over for a try that Blumlein converted.

Petersfield emptied their bench, giving the three replacements almost 30 minutes of game time. From a clean take at the restart Dawes ran through the visitors to score a converted try.

Wilde then scored his second try to make it 55-3, but Ellingham & Ringwood responded well and advanced up the field to score a converted try. The final score for the hosts came from a spirited run by Karter Whittock, who dotted down in the left corner. Blumlein added the conversion.
