Three members of Rushmoor Masters Artistic Swimming Club have recently returned from Doha, Qatar, after a very successful week competing in the World Aquatics Masters Championships.
Andrea Holland was delighted to become a world masters champion in the solo event, to add to the European crown she won back in 2018. Andrea, who returned to the sport ten years ago and has won numerous national and international medals during that time, is now competing in the 60 to 69 age group.
Carla Sanders, who was competing in the 50 to 59 age group, finished just off the podium in fourth place for her solo, moving up two places between her technical and free routine swims. Andrea and Carla were then joined by Rachel Davies for the duet event, where they finished in fourth place. Rachel not only competed in the artistic swimming, but also had successful swims in the open water and 800m freestyle events. She finished 17th and 13th respectively in a highly competitive 50 to 54 age group.
The Rushmoor Masters Artistic Swimming Team are now working towards the European Championships taking place in Serbia towards the end of June, along with the National Championships in July.
