CENTRAL A maintained their drive for the Aldershot Table Tennis League Division One title with an emphatic 9-1 victory away to Fleet A.
Phil Snelson and Paul Baker were both unbeaten and Peter Millard backed them up with two wins.
However, close rivals Bentley A kept up the pressure by whitewashing lowly Ash B 10-0, with Trevor Spraggs, Graham Diplock and Micky Lang sharing the points.
Newcomer Scott Ayers was unbeaten for Central B who squeezed past Ash A 6-4. Neil Martin supported with two wins and Nigel Care claimed two for Ash.
Tennis B beat two-man Frimley A 9-1, with Dave Jarvis and Michael Kwan both unbeaten.
Division Two is the tightest in the league and Tennis D were delighted with their 6-4 win over high-riding Bentley B.
George Carder led the way with a maximum, while Robin Street and Paul Farrant won two apiece for Bentley.
Cody A moved back to the top of the table with a 6-4 victory over Frimley C. Anthony Connelly was unbeaten for the leaders, but doubles for Keith Russell and Peter Anthony clinched the result for Cody.
The Division Three relegation battle is hotting up and Tennis F were relieved to beat Cody C 7-3. Tennis players Charles Burton, David Lewis and Tushar Vaja all won twice, as did Dave Thomas for Cody.
Ash D avenged their knockout Cup defeat the previous week with a comprehensive 7-3 win over Crawley Ridge A. Amy Parkes and Jo Bartlett were unbeaten for Ash.
Phil Garrett and David Skellern were both undefeated for Crawley Ridge B who tightened their grip at the top of the table with an 8-2 victory against Cody D.
Ash E beat Fleet B 8-2, with Terry French claiming another treble and team-mates Margaret Thornton and Dave Brown winning two apiece.
The top four in Division Four all achieved clear-cut victories. Crawley Ridge C beat Ash G 7-3, with Richard Hornby, Mark Stephenson and Yuriy Schulzhenko all winning twice and Bob Murrell replying with two for the losers.
Ted Cornell’s maximum helped Frimley F to an 8-2 success against Fleet C. Gary Smith and Steve Lawlor won two in support, while Alan Yeung scored a defiant double for Fleet.
Tennis H were also 8-2 victors, John Page finishing unbeaten and John Davis and Ken Lewington winning two each against Cody F. Norrie Short won two back for Cody.
Braybrooke B beat Ash F 8-2, with Kenny Duarte unbeaten on the night. Sandra Jackson and Tony McDowell supported with doubles, both losing to Graham Thomas.
Tennis J edged past Frimley E 6-4, but the star player was Charles Rhodes who took three for Frimley. Ken Lewington and Keith Johnson gained doubles for Tennis.
