WOLVES gave new boss Stale Solbakken a successful start in competitive matches, but Aldershot made them work hard for victory in the Capital One Cup first round on Saturday.

Aldershot, who knocked West Ham, Carlisle and Rochdale out of last season's competition (then the Carling Cup) before bowing out to Manchester United, took the Championship side to extra time and a marathon penalty shoot-out before conceding defeat.
