THE Terry Davis Cup Tournament, for junior members aged 8 to 16, returned to Wrecclesham Tennis Club.
This year, the format was touchtennis doubles. Short courts, short rackets and sponge balls required players to rely on their skills rather than power.
Twelve Wrecclesham juniors took part in five doubles rounds, rotating partners after each round. Players’ scores were entered into the results table, with the top two scorers taking home the Terry Davis Cup.
Archie Dodds and Jack Fabry scored the most points and shared the trophy. With the main tournament completed, the players were then split into three singles groups and competed in a round robin format.
Junior co-ordinator Diane Pettitt and head coach Gemma Wiltshire organised and ran the tournament.
