ALDERSHOT Town overcame one hurdle on the path to rehabilitation when the club was elected into the Football Conference.

The league held its annual meeting last weekend and Aldershot were accepted into the Premier Division with a 10-point deduction for being in administration.

The Shots finished bottom of League Two last season and went into administration almost immediately with a debt of £1m, with £300,000 owed to football creditors.

Fixtures for the Conference 2013/14 season will be released next month.

The club remains under the control of Quantuma Restructuring, the administrators, with only six players on the books, plus manager Andy Scott and his staff.

Quantuma's Carl Jackson and Paul Goddard issued their latest statement on Wednesday, saying: "We continue to make good progress with interested parties with a view to the club coming out of administration. While disclosure of these parties cannot be made, there is genuine interest. The administrators hope to be in a position to make a more detailed statement in seven to ten days.

"The administrators attended the Conference annual meeting at the weekend and had a positive meeting with a number of members. They were able to reassure the Conference that discussions are progressing with interested parties with the key objective that Aldershot Town will be playing in the Conference next season."
