ALDERSHOT TOWN 1, GATESHEAD 2

A DEFEAT which could so easily have been turned into victory once again left Aldershot Town with plenty of food for thought.

Twice in five weeks, promotion-challenging Gateshead have considered themselves somewhat fortunate to grab late goals against the Shots, but Andy Scott's side still have just a single point to show for 180 minutes of valiant effort.

In September, it was Danny Wright's header which snatched a draw. On Saturday, it was Rob Ramshaw – a central midfielder thrown on as an emergency striker as the visitors were forced to substitute a substitute – who poached the 91st-minute winner with his second opportunist strike of the afternoon.
