Teams in the Farnham & District Billiards & Snooker League took to the green baize for the knock-out cup campaign – and the top two sides have already fallen by the wayside.

Farnham Cons B produced the most eye-catching result of the night, beating league runners-up Comrades A 4-0 in the first round of the handicap competition.

Tim Allan was the pick of the bunch, defeating Rob Donohoe 107-17, while Martin Wells capped off a memorable night with a 77-43 win over Ian Etherington to complete the whitewash.

Their reward is a last-16 home tie against Division Three’s Sovereign D, who produced a minor shock with an aggregate win against Division Two stalwarts Liss RBL C.

League champions Sovereign B won’t be claiming a league and cup double, as Neil Callingham won 50-39 in the final frame to secure progress for Liss RBL A.

Dong Ming Lau had a good evening, making a superb 67 break in a 108-45 win against Andy Bryant as Shottermill B overcame a dogged Frensham D.

Division Three champions Alton Cons A saw off relegated Division One side Lindford B on points, while Rowledge A got the better of Fleet Broadway to progress.
