AFC WIMBLEDON 1, ALDERSHOT TOWN 2
AFTER six games without a goal, it was left-back Anthony Straker who ended Aldershot's agony with a double strike at Kingsmeadow on Saturday.
It was Aldershot's first win of the year, ending a run of four consecutive league defeats, and it was a deserved success because they won the tactical battle against attack-minded AFC Wimbledon, a fact acknowledged by Dons boss and former Shots manager, Terry Brown.
"Aldershot did a great number on us today," he said. "They'd obviously done their homework and flooded the midfield. It was a frustrating, ugly game, but they were the better side and deserved to win."
