NEAR freezing conditions and sleet showers greeted the seven riders brave enough to take on Farnham Road Club’s ten-mile time trial.

The fastest was Peter Franks of Charlotteville CC in 23mins 42secs, followed by Matt Robinson of Westbury Wheelers in 24-28 and 16-year-old Luke Skilton of Farnham Road Club in 25-02.

The tandem of Robert Allen and Paul Charman finished in 25-48. Other times (all Farnham Road Club): Ian White 28-51, Huw Lloyd 29-32, Nigel Bicknell (just ‘touring’) 36-42.

The timekeeper was Deana Rice, helped at the start by husband Michael, while Ian Thomas organised the signage.

Coffee and refreshments in The Bull enabled everyone to thaw out.
