An 11-strong Petersfield Triathlon Club (PTC) team, supported by club chairwoman Rowena Rogers, took to the start line at the Arctic One Triathlon and Para-Tri Festival at Eton Dorney.

First to hit the course were the standard distance aquabikers, in what acted as a qualifying event for the 2026 Aquabike age group World Championships.

The six-strong PTC team consisted of a mix of experienced racers and newcomers to the discipline.

First to take to the water were British age group champion Josh Lahiri and Matt Jolin.

A solid swim had Lahiri out the water in sixth in the wave before posting the second fastest bike of the day to come home first overall by three seconds.

Jolin secured automatic qualification for the 2026 world championships.

Linda Robbins started strongly and was nearly a lap ahead of the nearest competitor in her age group on the bike before a mechanical brought her race to an end.

Amanda Wellesley put down a strong all-round performance and secured automatic world championship qualification.

David Robbins secured the final qualification slot in his new age group for 2026, while Kathryn Pillar put down her fastest ever bike average speed and just missed the automatic qualification spots in her age group.

Next to take to the course for PTC was the four-strong sprint triathlon contingent of Amy Woods, Rose Beddington, Ross Gentry and Jamie Mansfield.

Mansfield finished third overall, just 50 seconds ahead of Woods, who was fourth overall and second woman on the day.

Gentry secured a top-ten finish, while Beddington produced a strong performance that should set her in good stead for her World Sprint Triathlon age group qualifier at Barry Island.

The last PTC athlete to take to the course was Leighton Jones in the super sprint.
