Whitehill & Bordon’s Wey Valley FC shone at a tournament in Belgium.

They came straight off the ferry and went into a training session before producing outstanding performances in their matches.

In six games they scored 23 goals and conceded only three, and were undefeated in normal time.

A club spokesperson said: “The boys fought hard and reached the final, narrowly missing out on first place in a heart-stopping sudden death finish.

“Despite the result, their sportsmanship, attitude and professionalism were second to none. They represented their club and country with pride and class throughout.

“A special shout-out goes to manager Darren Oakley, whose tireless work and passion for grassroots football have taken this team to another level. His dedication to the boys and the game truly goes above and beyond.

“The team return home not only with incredible results, but with memories that will last a lifetime. Well done, Wey Valley - you’ve done us all proud.”
