CHILLY and wet conditions faced the 12 solo riders and one tandem pairing who competed in Farnham Road Club’s ten-mile time trial last Saturday.
Farnham’s own Ian White, having ridden previous events on a winter training bike, showed his real class by winning in a time of 23mins 07secs on his time-trial machine.
Dominic Harrison (Mountain Trax RT) was again second in 23-17 and Peter Franks (Charlotteville CC) came third in 23-39.
Laura Bartlett was the fastest female rider in 24-59, followed by Charlotte Hanson (VC Meudon) with 28-48 and Virginia McGee (Charlotteville) with 28-58.
Farnham’s tandem duo of Robert Allen and Paul Charman recorded 25-50.
Other Farnham times: David Clifford 26-13, Roger Chapman 26-29, Bruce Jefferies (on his winter bike) 30-36.
Timekeepers were Jim Brown and Ian Thomas, signs by Ian Thomas, and help at the start was provided by Michael Rice, Nigel Bicknell and Jim Parker.
