JONNY Wilkinson, Farnham Ruby Club's most famous son, completed the first half of his swansong as a professional player by helping Toulon retain the Heineken Cup in Cardiff last weekend. His final bow as a world-class player comes this Saturday when Toulon meet Castres in the French Top 14 final. The former Farnham junior turned 35 on Sunday, but there was no sign of decline as Toulon beat Saracens 23-6 at the Millennium Stadium. Wilkinson kicked 13 points – two penalties, two conversions and a drop goal. Owen Farrell, the current England No 10, managed two penalties as Saracens were outplayed. The French Top 14 final will signal the end of Wilkinson's glittering 17-year career, during which he acquired legendary status by kicking the winning drop goal for England in the 2003 World Cup Final against Australia.
