TENNIS H moved to the top of the Aldershot League Division?Four table after inflicting the first defeat of the season on Crawley Ridge B.

Martin Evans starred for Tennis with a maximum in the 6-4 victory, while Phil Garrett won twice for Crawley Ridge.

Tennis J, meanwhile, appear to have unearthed a potential star in the form of Tom Ette who was unbeaten in the 8-2 win over Cody F. John Page and John Davis supported with doubles, both losing to Cody’s John Asprey.

Another junior, Ben Carr, also secured a maximum as Ash H beat their F team 7-3. Darren Milstead won twice for the H players, as did Janet Guess for the Fs.

Braybrooke E easily overcame Ash J 8-2, with Sandra Jackson unbeaten. Team-mates Malcolm Codd and Kenny Duarte and Ash’s Bob Powney all won twice.

Bob Murrell recorded a treble, backed up by doubles from Ray Mears and Chris Payne, as Ash G beat Fleet C 7-3.

Cody A chalked up their first win in Division Two, defeating Braybrooke A 6-4. Keith Russell led the way with a maximum and Peter Anthony’s brace was matched by Mark Armstrong of Braybrooke.

Fleet A demolished Old Woking 9-1 and are favourites to win the division, even at this early stage of the season. David Joyce and Fallon Thompson took three apiece and Lawrence Dack won twice.

Ash C edged past Bentley B 6-4, with Robin Street winning all three for the losers. Nigel Tustin and Frank Winnard won two each for Ash.

Frimley C overcame their B team, 8-2. Peter Farrelly notched up a maximum and Derek Seager and John Eade supported with doubles.

Tennis A continue to dominate Division One, their latest result being a 9-1 mauling of their C team. Rod Kay and Paul Myers were both unbeaten and Eliot Tilley won twice.

Central B beat two-man Central A 6-4 in the derby match. Phil Snelson claimed a maximum for the losers.

Promotion contenders Frimley D and Cody C shared the points. Gary Nicholson was undefeated for Fimley and Barry Baxter (Frimley) and John Harvey (Cody) both won two.

Crawley Ridge A beat Ash D 7-3. Russell Gibbs won his three and team-mate Ken Thompson won two, with Hugh McKee bagging a brace for Ash.

Tennis F beat a depleted Ash E team 8-2. Graham McCulley was unbeaten for Tennis.
