A CAR mounted the pavement in Wrecclesham Hill on Thursday (October 12) just yards from where mum-of-two Amy Harris was killed three weeks ago.
Police responded to reports of a car colliding with the kerb at around 9.20am and coned off the northbound lane of the A325 while the vehicle was recovered.
According to an eyewitness, the car hit the kerb after swerving to avoid another car straying across the central white lines while speeding up Wrecclesham Hill in the opposite direction.
No injuries were reported, but it comes just weeks after dog-walker Amy Harris was killed after a van mounted the same stretch of pavement on September 19.
Responding, a public meeting has been called by councillors at St Peter’s School, Little Green Lane at 10.30am on Saturday, October 21 to discuss road safety improvements in the village.
MP Jeremy Hunt also confirmed this week that Surrey Police has been commissioned to undertake a speed survey to review the level of speeding on the A325.
