A teenage boy was taken to hospital by ambulance after he was hit by a car on the A31 Farnham bypass at Hickleys Corner on Monday.

Police and ambulance crews were called to Hickleys Corner at around 4.55pm after reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and car.

A Surrey Police spokesman later confirmed a teenage boy was taken to hospital with a leg injury, and an investigation to establish the circumstances of the crash is ongoing.

The boy’s mother also posted online that her son had suffered “some broken bones and we’re all in shock”, but added it “could have been so much worse”.

She also thanked “all the lovely people who helped us”.

The incident took place at the A31/South Street junction and saw police close an eastbound lane of the A31 and the exit road into South Street while ambulance workers treated the casualty.
