A THIEF stole an elderly woman’s purse in Farnham town centre on Monday afternoon, including around £50 cash and treasured family photos.

The 87-year-old grandmother paid for an item in Poundland in The Borough and walked to the Sue Rider charity shop in South Street, where she discovered her purse was missing.

Her grandson posted on Facebook: “She is upset as it had close family photos inside. The money can be replaced but the photos mean so much to her!”

Anyone with information is asked to call the police on 101.
