Three men and a 15-year-old were arrested late last Friday on suspicion of carrying out illegal hare coursing north of Alton.
Police were called to Long Sutton following reports of a Honda CR-V being driven around a field near Hayley Lane, with police finding a number of lamps inside the car along with three lurcher-type dogs.
A 46-year-old man from Shepperton, Surrey was arrested on suspicion of participating in a hare coursing event, entering land as a trespasser at night with poaching equipment, and driving above the legal drink-drive limit.
Two men from Kent – a 31-year-old from Maidstone and a 22-year-old from Tonbridge – were arrested on suspicion of the same along with the boy, minus the drink-drive offences. The quartet have been bailed with conditions.
