Farnham has lost a legendary retailer as the name of a store with more than 230 years of history has disappeared from the town centre.
The name WHSmith has been consigned to the history books as the shop reopened this morning as TG Jones.
The signs above the shop on The Borough were changed overnight as part of the recent sale of the high street operation to Modella Capital.
The change will not affect staff numbers or the in-store Post Office while even the new sign is reflective of its previous use, with white text on a blue background.
There’s also been no changes inside, aside from the rebrand. The name WHSmith will live on, but only in travel-related outlets.
