Work on the eco-station is well under way and a recent decision to paint the historic fire station doors green, instead of their previous red, was described this week as a "monumental" mistake.
Whitehill Town Council's deputy chairman, Adam Carew, said that while there were "far bigger" issues at hand, the changes to the landmark building represent the district council's disregard for residents' views, adding that he "can't understand how they could get it so wrong".
