A SPRING surprise is in store for Whitehill & Bordon residents, thanks to a volunteer bulb planting.
Some 16 volunteers showed up to plant bulbs, all native and UK grown, at The Future Skills Centre, Whitehill Village Hall, Alpine Road and Ennerdale Road.
It is hoped they will add colour and spring interest around the urban area of the Green Loop, the 7km walking and cycling loop that runs around the town.
All native species of bulbs were selected, suitable for local soil and conditions including the following plants: round-headed leek, wood anemone, winter aconites, bluebells, Tenby daffodils, double-headed snowdrop, snakeshead fritillary, snowflakes, star of Bethlehem.
It is hoped the floral display will supplement the Town in Bloom programme, and add to the visual attraction of the town.
