COMMUNITY groups and businesses across the area will invite passers-by in for a cuppa and a piece of cake next week as part of The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event for people facing cancer and people all over the UK are encouraged to host their own coffee mornings in aid of the charity.

Last year alone the event raised £25 million for the charity and building on this success, the following events are set to take place in Farnham on Friday, September 30, (unless specified otherwise):

• Farnham Herald - The Herald office in West Street will offer a spread of homemade cakes over three days between Wednesday, September 28, and Friday, September 30.

• Hawthorn Lodge - Churchill Retirement Living will donate £5 to Macmillan for every visitor who joins them for coffee and cake from 11am at its new development in Longbridge.

• Frensham Cricket Pavilion will host its 12th annual charity coffee morning from 10am to midday, offering cakes galore as well as tea, coffee, soft drinks and the opportunity to join together as a village and mingle.

• Melody Care - Homecare provider Melody Care is inviting all-comers to its office at Unit 10 in The Enterprise Centre, Coxbridge Business Park from 10.30am to 2.30pm.

• Farnham Natural Therapy - The clinic in Carlton Yard, between Central car park and Downing Street, is hosting a Macmillan coffee morning from 10.30am to 1.30pm.

• Remington Harrow - The hair salon in Cambridge Place will offer tea, coffee and cake from 9am to 6pm.

• Rowledge Village Hall in The Long Road will host a coffee morning from 10am.

• Argos in West Street is holding a bake sale in aid of Macmillan from 9am.

• Nationwide Building Society in the Town Hall Buildings is hosting a community coffee morning from 10am.

• Branston Adams Solicitors in South Street will invite passers-by in for a cup of tea, coffee and a cake from 9am.

• Abbeyartists are hosting a Macmillan coffee morning at Kilnside Farm in Moor Park Lane from 10am.

• Hale Children’s Sure Start Centre will throw open its doors for a cake sale by the Wednesday Play & Learn group from 9.30am.

• And finally, Crondall Baptist Church will host a coffee morning from 10am.
