THE new sailing season starts at Frensham Pond Sailability on Thursday, April 5.
In preparation for this, the volunteer helpers have been working to prepare the boats after the winter.
Hulls have been cleaned, essential maintenance has been done and all the sails and rigging have been made ready.
All sailors with a disability or long term illness are welcome to come and experience the pleasures of sailing.
It may be that sailing tuition would be valuable and there are plenty of volunteers with sailing experience on hand.
It may also be that the lure of racing attracts, and again, there is plenty of expertise available to draw on.
Extra volunteers are always welcome, and those involved always say what a worthwhile activity this is.
Frensham Pond is a beautiful location and Frensham Pond Sailabilty helps all its sailors enjoy it to the full.
The charity has provided thousands of sailing opportunities for people with disabilities and long-term illnesses since 2001, and was bestowed the highest award a voluntary group can receive, the prestigious Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service in May 2016.
