FUNDS raised at the Alton Summer Beer Festival in June have been presented to charities.

On Saturday, volunteers and supporters met at Alton’s Wessex Arts Centre to hand donations to beneficiaries.

June’s festival was the 33rd since the event began in 2002.

In the last 17 years, the grand total given away by the beer festivals has now reached £234,000.

The eleven charities that benefited included the Alton Repair Café, Four Marks and Ropley Scouts, Hampshire Cultural Trust, and Holybourne Theatre.

The winter beer festival will return next February.
