Alton Repair Café will be open at Alton Community Centre on October 28 between 10.30am and 12.30pm.

Its mission is as much sentimental as it is practical – recent repairs include fixing handles on two items of a toy tea service brought back from abroad in the early 1990s, and rebuilding the very corroded battery compartment of a toy Mercedes car of similar age.

Repairs are free but donations are welcomed to cover costs. Household items are repaired as well as toys.
