THE South Warnborough Village Bake Off went off with bang this month with its bonfire night-themed competition.
On Saturday November 12, South Warnborough celebrated the third annual Village Bake Off at the Poacher Inn pub.
With over 50 different entries submitted, bake-off judges had a hard time choosing the eventual winners.
The sweet creations were submitted and judged across three categories, Victoria sponge, Bonfire night and the daringly difficult showstopper challenge.
The winners on the afternoon were Mark Heslington, Clemmie Jackson, Hannah Scarlett and Phoebe Forsyth.
For the second year in a row the Clark household won the prestigious ‘Best in Show’ award. Another year older and with the experience of competition success behind them, Bobby Clark, aged four and Daniel Clark, aged seven made “an incredible bonfire cake”.
One of the event organisers, Jonny Orange, said: “We were really pleased with the event. Lots of people took part and enjoyed it and it brought the community together.
“Of course it also helped our local pub and everyone got lots of free cake, we’ll be back again next year!”
The money raised on the day went to the South Warnborough Church.
